Rachel Goldstein

Editor in Chief - ex-Bloomberg markets editor 2014-2022 + ex-WSJ Markets desk 2008-2014

Background

I am Rachel Goldstein, founder and Editor in Chief of Finance Frontier News. I spent 14 years on markets desks before going independent in 2023 - eight years at Bloomberg News (2014-2022) covering ETFs, FED policy, and the structured products beat, preceded by six years at the Wall Street Journal Markets desk (2008-2014) where I cut my teeth on fixed income coverage through the GFC and Eurozone crisis.

I hold an MS in Finance from NYU Stern (2008), with concentration in capital markets and quantitative methods. I am based in Brooklyn NY.

Editorial voice

Finance Frontier News is influenced by Matt Levine’s Money Stuff, Tracy Alloway and Joe Weisenthal’s Odd Lots, the Financial Times analytical tradition, and the institutional finance reporting of Bloomberg and The Economist. I write for portfolio managers, analysts, and individual investors who want analytical depth without marketing hype.

Every article opens with a one-line provocative thesis, supported by a chart and a 3-data-point summary. Sources are cited inline and numbered in a bibliography at the end. Verdict boxes summarize what the data means for investors at the close of each piece.

Editorial independence

Finance Frontier News accepts no paid placements. Occasional broker mentions are disclosed inline at the point of mention. There is no primary affiliate model - revenue comes from guest post sales transparent on the methodology page, plus the optional Substack mirror.

Sources policy

All citations link to primary sources : FED FOMC transcripts, SEC EDGAR filings, ECB Working Papers, BIS quarterly reviews, OECD economic outlook, Pitchbook PE data, NVCA VC reports. Secondary aggregation is never cited - if a Reuters or Bloomberg article reports on a primary source, FFN goes back to the primary source.

Corrections

Errors are corrected transparently with a footer note on the article and a permanent entry in the Corrections log.
